No-code examples: 8 custom no-code apps built by successful startups & businesses

A common misconception about no-code apps is that they’re only suitable for simple products. And yet there are many examples of real businesses running their operations and securing investment funds with complex, custom apps built with no-code.

Thanks to the advanced features and capabilities of many no-code platforms (e.g. Bubble), non-technical folks can now quickly build fully functional web apps that look and work the same as ones developed with traditional code.

As a no-code development agency, we’ve built many of these apps for clients. Below are several custom no-code app examples – from marketplaces to data visualization tools and customer portals – that we helped founders and large companies build to power their businesses and launch new product ideas.

No-code marketplaces

1. Yusa

Yusa offers a solution to the common struggle homeowners face when seeking reliable expert help for home repairs, maintenance, and improvements. Their mobile, two-sided marketplace app automatically connects users with home repair experts through video chat, bypassing the hassle of costly companies or unreliable online DIY resources.

Powered by no-code, Yusa's platform allows homeowners to describe their problem and get matched with licensed professionals who can provide quick, personalized advice via video chat. Yusa processes all transactions, charging users by the minute and distributing funds to the experts, minus a small system fee.

2. TicketRev

TicketRev is breaking the mold as the pioneer of reverse marketplace apps for event ticketing. Unlike traditional marketplace platforms, it allows fans to bid on tickets at their desired price and seating location, giving sellers the option to accept satisfactory bids instantly.

With its no-code-built platform, TicketRev helps fans search for the events they want to attend and provides them with suggested bid ranges to maximize their odds of finding a seller. And when a seller accepts a bid, the platform allows them to sell discreetly and get paid instantly so they never have to list their inventory for sale.

Since its 2021 launch, TicketRev has secured $1.1M in pre-seed funding from notable investors, including 500 Startups, Soma Capital, Groove Capital, and Techstars.

3. 002 Sponsorships

002 Sponsorships is simplifying brand-influencer collaborations in the rapidly expanding pickleball industry with the world's first pickleball influencer marketplace platform. Co-founded by serial entrepreneur Ed Chao, the idea emerged from the lack of a centralized database for connecting brands entering the pickleball market with influencers.

Through the marketplace platform, influencers can build personal profiles to showcase their DUPR skill ratings, social media metrics, geography, sponsorship history, etc., as well as search, filter, and start conversations with brand sponsors in the system. Similarly, brands can quickly sift through and bookmark influencers based on specified criteria then message them via an in-app chat feature.

4. Kidsbook.io

Kidsbook.io was born out of a common frustration faced by parents everywhere: the challenge of organizing kids' activities. After becoming a stay-at-home dad and struggling to coordinate fun things for his kids during school holidays, founder David Vitek had the idea to launch a kids activity marketplace to connect parents and providers in one digital location (he was already a successful founder of hipages, the most visited site in the Australian home improvement and building sector).

The Kidsbook.io platform serves as a centralized marketplace where parents can easily discover, book, and pay for verified activities for their children. It also allows providers to showcase their offerings and manage bookings after registration and vetting (all done in-platform). Additionally, Kidsbook.io leverages social sharing features, allowing parents to easily share booked activities with their friends and network.

5. CareWork

CareWork is a software platform we helped build with no-code to address the crucial need for home care services. They help home care agencies hire and retain more caregivers to improve accessibility to care for families.

CareWork’s Hiring Platform serves as an automated applicant tracking and KPI reporting system for the home healthcare industry, allowing clients to track applicants throughout the recruitment and retention process. It provides access to live metrics and benchmarks so home care agencies can compare their performance against industry national averages. CareWork’s goal is to create a national database of industry metrics that will help guide clients in their decision making process as it relates to recruiting and retention.

6. Cerebro Sports

Traditional methods of recruiting high school and college basketball players haven’t always been fair. However, Cerebro Sports is changing that by offering coaches a centralized data-centric global player evaluation and scouting hub that makes discovering and assessing new prospects much more efficient and cost-effective.

Built by us with no-code, Cerebro's platform includes a maintained global player database with statistics from various levels of basketball competition. It allows coaches to quickly find players based on specific roles or skills they need, and enables players to track their performance and compare themselves with others.

Since its launch in 2021, Cerebro has added over 600,000 player records and gained traction with college programs, professional teams, and agencies. Additionally, it has expanded operations with an investment from entrepreneur and NBA governor Mark Cuban.

8. Playground IEP

Playground IEP is a special education caseload management portal for schools. It was conceived by special educator Sean Klamm to streamline tedious case management tasks, allowing schools to focus more on students and less on paperwork. This included giving teachers a place to easily access up-to-date student information, as well as automated IEP (individualized education program) scheduling between all of a student’s service providers.

Custom built by us with no-code, the portal consists of 3 core time-saving features for school users: IEP snapshots for easy access to individual student information, automated scheduling of IEP meetings, and personalized teacher dashboards to track students on their caseloads.
